Unconscious Mind Definition
The unconscious mind is a term used in psychoanalytic theory to refer to mental processes which are inaccessible to conscious awareness, but which nonetheless influence behavior. It includes many of the processes that occur in the mind subconsciously, such as memories, emotions, and impulses. It is often argued that the unconscious mind is responsible for much of the behavior and decisions we make, even though we are not aware of the reasons behind them. This can include behaviors such as dreams, habits, and automatic responses to certain situations.
