Fight Response Definition
The fight response, also known as the "fight-or-flight" response, is a primal physiological reaction triggered in the face of perceived threat or danger. When confronted with a challenging or life-threatening situation, the body releases stress hormones, such as adrenaline and cortisol, preparing an individual to either confront the threat head-on (fight) or flee from it (flight). This instinctive reaction activates heightened alertness, increased heart rate, elevated blood pressure, and sharpened senses, all geared towards maximizing the chances of survival. The fight response plays a vital role in human survival, helping individuals respond effectively to immediate dangers and protect themselves from harm.
